hyundai miami beach air showEvery year, we eagerly anticipate the Hyundai Miami Beach Air Show which takes place during Memorial Day Weekend. This time around, we had initially planned to enjoy the show from our boat while cruising along the water. However, due to our responsibility of babysitting our energetic grandog, Benji the Frenchie, and his grumpy uncle, Zeke the Puggle, we had to reconsider. Having the dogs onboard with a group of aviation enthusiasts would likely result in a chaotic day of cleaning up after them and praying that we don’t have to test out the doggie life vests.

Instead, we’ve decided to watch the aerial events from the comfort of our high-rise balcony in Brickell. Since the show spans two days, I’ll have the opportunity to assess the view and schedule on Saturday while my wife is at work. Then, on Sunday, we’ll invite our aviation enthusiast friends over to join us. As the designated cook, I’ll be whipping up a delightful holiday weekend menu consisting of make-your-own nachos, succulent mojo pork with homemade tortillas, and flavorful Korean chicken thighs. With the boat captain duties out of the picture, we can all relax and indulge in some refreshing draft beer and Katie’s famous yet dangerous coconut cocktails.
